Drive by car
in about half an hour
from the House Grabler, Altmünster
to Ebensee and to the
Vorderer Langbathsee
(664 m) big car-park
For a walk
around the first,
bigger lake
you'll need about 1 hour.
During summer it's a
wonderful place
for swimming
- during winter it's a paradise
for skaters.
If you'd like to walk to the
Hinterer Langbathsee (732 m)
too, plan about
2 hours of walking time.
If you visit just the first
or both lakes - without fail,
it'll be a very
recommendable
walk
- especially for families
Mountaineerers have here the
possibility to climb up, starting
from the Hinterer Langbathsee via
Schafluckensteig,
a little bit exposed,
the Brunnkogel (1708 m)
(about 3 hours walking time).
Enjoy, on this magnificent summit,
with his 14 metres high
cross constructed by artists
the dreamlike
beautiful view of the
surrounding mountains
to the High Tauern.
On the other side
you can look down to your
resort
and the surroundings.
Way down like way up -
or: walk over to the
hut Hochleckenhaus
and there on the normal way
to the valley, to the lake Taferlkaussee.
Walk from there
along the path Froschweg or
along the Lueg back to the
lakes Langbathseen.
