The region lake Traunsee and surroundings is
situated in the South of Upper Austria.
The area reaches from the lake Attersee in the West over 30
km to the valley Almtal in the East,
the West-Highway builds the border in the West
and 20 southern is the valley Weissenbachtal between the lake Attersee and
the valley Trauntal near Bad Ischl as well as the mountain range Totes Gebirge.
