Walk up the mountains Hochlecken and Brunnkogel

Village: Neukirchen/Altmünster on the lake Traunsee, Salzkammergut, Upper Austria, Austria Destination: The Hochlecken and the Brunnkogel are situated in the North-west of the mountain range Höllengebirge between the lakes Traunsee and Attersee. |

If you look from the Grasberg or another point of view to the north or North-east towards the mountain range Höllengebirge, you’ll see in the west 3 striking summits: |

The Hochlecken with the hut on the highest point, on his left side the Hochleckenkogel and still more left the pyramid of the Brunnkogel. |
|
|
If you’d like to enjoy the panoramic view of this mountains take your hiking equipment, especially your climbing boots with you. |
|
|
Go by car from the House Grabler in about 20 minutes via Neukirchen towards Großalm. At the lake Taferlklaussee (750 m) you’ll find enough parking space. |
|
|
After about two hours walk you’ll reach the mountain hut Hochleckenhaus (1574 m) – already here is the view stunning. |
|
|
In a further hour of walk over a plateau and the soft crest you'll reach the summit of the Brunnkogel (1708 m) . . .

Now you’re at the top of the before mentioned pyramid and can enjoy the dreamlike beautiful view of the surrounding mountains to the High Tauern. |

On the other side you look down to your holiday village and the surroundings. |
|

By the way, you can climb the Brunnkogel also from the lakes Langbathseen via the path Schafluckensteig. |
