From the district
Weyer in Gmunden
leads a
cable car
up the Grünberg (2011 out of action)

From the station of the top end
of the cable car
it takes you 3 minutes to go to
the restaurant
„Grünbergalm“
at the summit of the Grünberg
(1004 m)

Here you can enjoy
a great view
of the lake Traunsee
and the whole region
to the mountain Dachstein –
as well as of the north
side of the mountain Traunstein

From the Grünberg you
reach after an hour of walk over the
„nature-teaching path“
to one of the most beautiful places
of the Salzkammergut –
to the alpine pasture Ramsauer Alm
on the lake Laudachsee (895 m)

Devote 45 minutes
to walk around the
little charming lake

It takes one-and-a-half-hour to climb up,
from the lake Laudachsee
over the Hohe Scharte,
(1100 m) the mountain
Katzenstein (1349 m).

But take care
on some parts of the path
and on the top,
especially if children
are going with you

Except the possibility with the
cable car, there are leading many paths
in the area of
Grünberg and Laudachsee
from all directions

The starting points
for these paths are
the inn „Hoisn“ at the end
of the road Traunsteinstraße,
the inn Ramsau at the road
Traunsteinstraße, the station of the
Grünberg-cable car
(all about 425 m above sea level)

Further starting points
are the „Mülibankerl“
in Engelhof (494 m),
the inns „Franzl im Holz“
and „Silberfuchs“ on a
hill (652 m) between the
Flachberg and Grünberg

From the valley Laudachtal (620 m)
you’ve the possibility
to go along the forest-road
Klamm-Forststraße,
via the „Wamering“,
via the „Eibenstöckl“
or along the forest-road
Schrattenau-Forststraße

From St. Konrad you can reach
the lake Laudachsee
starting from the Dürrnberg (800 m)
via the Schrattenau (981 m),
from Scharnstein via
Hochbuchegg (742 m)
and the Schrattenau

In combination with
a walk on the Grünberg
or to the Laudachsee
also a mountain tour around
the mountain Traunstein
is a great possibility
