Drive by car from the
House Grabler, Altmünster,
in about half an hour
to Ebensee on the southern end
of the lake Traunsee
The mountain Feuerkogel is the „home mountain“
of the inhabitants
of this salt-works village
To the plateau of the
mountain Feuerkogels lead
some paths
from the valleys
Trauntal and Langbathtal
We recommend
you the most comfortable way:
Go by cable car
up the mountain and save your power
for walks on the plateau
You can for example
walk past the mountain inns
up the Heumahdgupf
(1680 m), from the station at the top end
of the cable car (1592 m) on . . .
. . . or go for a little bit longer walk
up the Alberfeldkogel
with his great view (1707 m)
-1 hour from the station
In about one hour of walk
you’ll reach also the
Helmeskogel
(1633 m) with his wonderful
view over the valley Trauntal
You'll need about
2 hours for a walk
to the mountain hut
Riederhütte
. . . or to the highest
peak of the mountain range
Höllengebirge,
to the Höllkogel

You should plan
about 7 to 8 hours
if you want to cross the
whole mountain range
Höllengebirge to the
mountain Hochlecken
