The mountainous region Dachstein-Gosaukamm is situated in the
South of Upper Austria
and partly in Salzburg and Styria.
In the North the area reaches to the valley Gosautal, to the valley Trauntal
with the lake
Hallstättersee and to the Ausseer-Land, in the South to the valley Ennstal
and in the West to the mountain range Tennengebirge.
The maximum extends from North to South is about 20 km, from West to East 50
km.
