Go by car from the
House Grabler, Altmünster,
in about 45 minutes
via Bad Ischl
to Hallstatt (508 m)Turn right to the station
of the cable car
up to the Salzberg
immediately after the tunnels
(Inn Rudolfsturm, 855 m)If you walk up
from the village Hallstatt
it takes you about an hour
to get up thereNow walk through the relatively
flat valley along the burial ground
to the Salzberg
(45 minutes walking time)A guided tour to the
salt mine Hallstatt and also
visits to the other facilities
about the Hallstatt culture are really worthwhile
Archeological blowoff
Archeologists found the oldest euorpean
wooden stairs in the Hallstätter Salzberg.
Possibly the stairs are from the 13th century
before Christ, what would mean that they're there
for about 3000 years!
It's known that the salt inside the mountain
conserves everything, but this is a real
sensationIn the beginning the path leads up
through the timber forest, later
through an area with mountain pines, until you come to the summit of the
Plassen(1953 m)
- about 2 hours walking time
from the SalzbergThe Plassen is almost
drowning in the surrounding
Dachstein massifDespite all, he’s a personal tip
and mostly used from native insiders-
has a dreamlike viewWay back like way up -
or, a much longer, but worthwhile
path leads downhill to the
„Waldbachstrub“
and to the valley EcherntalThe Waldbachstrub with the
waterfall and the
Waldbach source
are worth a walkWalk from Hallstatt
to the valley Echerntal –
1 hour walking time
The impression you’ll take
from there with you, is:
the roaring water spreading
over steeply rocks,
the natural landscape
and the lonelinessThe Plassen,
especially his west side,
is surrounded by many
romantic alpine pastures
, some huts are servicedBetween the village Gosau,
the lake Gosausee and this valley
exist kilometres long
paths and forest roadsDid you find, what you were looking for?
