to Obertraun to the station
of the Krippenstein cable car

of the cable car to the summit
of the Krippenstein (2108 m)

and also of the valley Trauntal

From the top end of the
Krippenstein cable car you can walk
also on a broad path
over the plateau of the
Dachstein massif, developed to karst,
to the Heilbronner cross (1959 m)
(one and a half hour walking time)

This is a memorial,
which reminds of the 3 teachers
and 10 pupils from Heilbronn
who got lost there in the Holy Week
1954 and frozed to death
|
|
|
As a variant for the way back
from the Heilbronner cross
to the station of he top end of the
Krippenstein cable car
you can use the path via the Däumelkogel
(2 hours) or the path past the
Hirzkarseelein and through the
Schlund (about 3 hours) |

|
In both cases it's strong
recommended not to leave
the marked path
|
|
|
A personal tip for pleasure-lovers
is the Taubenkogel -
a summit with a fantastic view
in the middle of the Dachstein area
|
|
|
If you’d like to visit this summit
drive by Krippenstein cable car
to the third stage
|
|
|
From there (1788 m) walk
past the Oberfeld station
up to the Taubenkogel (2300 m)
(2 and a half hour walking time)
|
|
|
From this summit,
in the centre of the Dachstein massif,
you’ll have the
most
beautiful panorama |
|
|
Besides the surrounding mountains,
you can also enjoy the extensive
impression of the immense size
of the Hallstatt glacier
|
|
|
And you’ll see
the world-wide well-known
motive of the Dachstein-summit
|
