The view from the summit of the
Grimming is fantastic
– the way there could be
called a „power tour“The way up requires
good condition and slip resistance,
you should have a good head for heights
and experience with rocksIn addition there isn’t
any inn or serviced hut
and no water on the whole way,
just a bivouacStarting point
is the international
Ski-flying jump “Kulm”
in Bad MitterndorfThe end of the jump -
about one and a half hour by car
from the House Grabler, Altmünster, -
and also the train station
are situated on 800 m above sea levelFrom there to the
summit of the Grimming
(2361 m) you’ve to cope
with a difference in height
of almost 1600 high metres
Walk up zigzag
along the jump,
pass the farmer's house
„Kulm-Bauer“ and through the
small valley to the real beginning
(about one hour walking time)The path leads
in the beginning slightly upwards
through the forest and gets
steeper later through the rocks.
After 4 to 5 hours of walking
from the Kulm-valley you’ll
reach the lonely, lovely summit.
