Location: The lake Almsee and the game park Grünau are deeply embedded
between the steep rocks of the northern edge of the Totes Gebirge

Drive with your car,
starting from House Grabler, Altmünster,
in approx. 45 minutes
to Grünau im Almtal.

In the middle of the village
the road divides
and branches into two
different valleys.

Follow the road
to the right,
direction Almsee
(still 13 km).

After approximately
half of the distance
you come to the
Cumberland-game park
Grünau.

The game park Grünau
is a wonderful, nature-like
park of game enclosures
and one of the most worth seeing
of his kind.

along the river Alm

between spacious
built enclosures
with native and/or
European kinds of games
is an

After further 3 kilometres
you'll come to the inn
„Jagersimmerl“
and after again 1,5 km
you've the possibility
to park your car
and make a walk around the
lake Almsee.

If you start the 6 km long
walk around the lake
on the left side, with the path
along the wonderful forest bank
and take the normal road back to the car
at the end, or the other way round -
that's up to you.

You can also drive by car
to the end of the lake
to the inns
„Deutsches Haus“
or „Seehaus“.

The walk round the lake
can be started just as well from
that point.

any walks through the
valleys of the
Wolfsau and the Röll.

The big parking space
at the inn „Seehaus“
is the ideal starting point
for mountain climbers
who want to make a tour to the
mountain hut
Pühringerhütte
in the Totes Gebirge
(4 hours),
as well as for longer crossings
